Synopsis

In the dead of night, millions tune into an anonymous puppet brawl stream that never ends. At exactly 59 minutes the footage glitches and viewers start acting out the puppets' brutal choreography in their own homes. A burned-out tech journalist and a disillusioned streamer race to trace the feed's origin before the next cycle claims them both. The deeper they dig, the more the stream reveals it has been running for decades, feeding on isolation and rage. Every viewer becomes both spectator and performer, their strings pulled by an unseen master who grows stronger with each new death broadcast. As the body count climbs, the line between screen and reality dissolves completely. With the clock ticking toward another 59-minute mark, they must decide whether to kill the stream or kill the part of themselves that can't look away.

The story

Act I

A jaded journalist discovers the puppet fight stream and becomes obsessed at the 59-minute mark when her roommate suddenly attacks her. She teams up with the original streamer to investigate the source.

Act II

As more viewers reenact the fights in gruesome real-life incidents, the duo traces the feed to an abandoned theater where the puppets appear to move on their own. Betrayals mount as the stream begins targeting them directly.

Act III

They confront the master puppeteer in a final broadcast showdown, sacrificing their own digital lives to sever the connection and end the cycle forever.

INT. LENA'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Laptop glow bathes Lena's face. Onscreen, two crude marionettes slam each other in a filthy ring. Chat scrolls: "59 MIN MARK INCOMING."

LENA
(whispering)
Come on, show me something real.

The puppets freeze. A glitch. Lena's roommate, JAKE, enters behind her, eyes blank, moving like a marionette. He grabs a lamp cord and loops it around her neck.

LENA
(struggling)
Jake? Jake, stop!

Jake's mouth moves in perfect sync with the puppet onscreen. The stream counter hits 59:00. Lena kicks the laptop; the feed dies. Jake collapses, coughing.

JAKE
What the hell did I just do?

Why now
