Synopsis
When every screen on the planet flashes identical footage of smiling strangers, people begin vanishing only to reappear as perfect copies with no memory of their former lives. A disgraced NSA hacker discovers the signal originates from a parallel Earth bleeding into ours through broadcast frequencies, turning ordinary citizens into sleeper invaders. As the duplicates multiply and governments fall, she teams with a battle-hardened general whose own family has been replaced. Together they trace the breach to an abandoned broadcast tower where the two worlds are fusing, forcing a choice between destroying the signal and sacrificing millions or allowing the invasion to complete and lose humanity forever. In the final confrontation the hacker uploads a counter-frequency that fractures the merge, but not before she must decide whether to stay behind and seal the rift or return to a world that may no longer recognize her.
The story
Screens worldwide sync to identical smiling faces and people start disappearing, replaced by eerily calm duplicates; our hacker protagonist decodes the first anomaly in a viral clip.
Duplicates seize power structures while the hacker and general uncover the parallel-dimension source and race to a remote tower amid escalating global panic and personal betrayals.
At the tower they trigger a counter-signal that rips the worlds apart; the hacker chooses sacrifice to close the breach, leaving a fractured but free humanity.

Cold open

On every screen the same 15-second loop plays: a smiling woman waving at the camera. LENA (whispering) Why the same timestamp on every upload? She rewinds. The smiling woman's eyes flick toward the lens a millisecond too late. Lena freezes the frame. Behind the woman, reflected in a mirror, another Lena stares back, smiling. LENA What the hell— Her phone buzzes. A notification: "Your live feed is now trending." Lena looks up at her webcam. Its red light is already on. On the center monitor, her own face appears, smiling. SMILING LENA (ON SCREEN) Welcome home. Lena slams the laptop shut. The room goes black except for the city skyline outside—every billboard now shows the same smiling face.
