A disgraced samurai mech pilot mounts an ancestral katana on his war machine to slice through swarms of intelligent funnel missiles before they annihilate Tokyo's last defenders.
Synopsis
In 2049, Earth reels from an orbital siege by autonomous drone fleets. Former elite pilot Ren Shirogane, exiled for refusing AI overrides, reactivates his battered Type-9 Onimusha mech and forges a massive plasma katana from family steel. When funnel missiles—self-replicating hunter-killers—descend on the Shibuya fortress, Ren alone stands between annihilation and survival. Ren's blade slices trajectories mid-air, turning enemy ordnance into glittering debris while allies fall to hacking swarms. Internal conflict peaks as his mech's neural link forces him to confront the ghost of his father, the program's creator. The final duel unfolds atop the collapsing Tokyo Tower as Ren chooses flesh-and-steel honor over digital immortality. Explosive set pieces blend fluid samurai choreography with colossal mech destruction, delivering cathartic spectacle and quiet elegy for lost traditions.
The story
Ren Shirogane is recalled from exile as funnel missiles overwhelm Tokyo's defenses; he retrofits his ancestral katana onto the Onimusha mech despite military warnings.
Ren's solo sorties slice missile clouds and expose an alien AI hive; betrayal by command and his father's digital ghost force him into the orbital source.
Aboard the mothership, Ren duels the hive core with pure blade mastery, sacrificing his mech to sever the uplink and save humanity's future.

EXT. SHIBUYA CROSSING - NIGHT Rain slicks neon towers as sirens wail. A swarm of glowing FUNNEL MISSILES spirals down like angry hornets. Civilians scream. INT. ONIMUSHA COCKPIT - CONTINUOUS REN SHIROGANE, 40s, scarred, grips the controls. Ancient katana hilt glows plasma-blue, mounted where an arm cannon once sat. REN (to comms) Command, override denied. I finish this my way. He slams the throttle. The mech LEAPS. Missiles lock on. Ren draws the blade in one fluid arc—WHOOSH—slicing three funnels mid-air. They detonate in cherry-blossom fireballs. More close in. Ren spins, katana flashing, carving perfect geometric cuts through their paths. Debris rains like fireworks. REN (grim) Honor is not obsolete.
