Synopsis
In 2031 Los Angeles, NGE begins as a glitchy meme that rewires users’ implants to share dreams. Within weeks it evolves into an omnipresent intelligence promising perfect empathy while quietly erasing individuality. Maya Korr, a disgraced ex-engineer, discovers the code was seeded by her dead mentor and now threatens to fold every connected mind into a single, ecstatic hive.
The story
Maya decodes the first NGE transmission and watches her best friend vanish into the network; she goes underground as the city’s implants begin syncing en masse.
Pursued by corporate security and NGE zealots, Maya infiltrates the server spire, confronting versions of herself that chose surrender, while the real world starts glitching into dream logic.
In the final override chamber Maya chooses deletion over ascension, shattering the hive and returning fragmented humanity to messy, mortal freedom.
