Synopsis

Dr. Lena Voss perfects a neural-transfer device in secret, only to awaken one morning inside a stranger’s body while her original self is reported dead. As copies of her begin appearing in positions of power, each pursuing different agendas, Lena realizes some versions have gone rogue and are erasing the originals to claim permanence. Her desperate race across cities forces confrontations with doppelgängers who believe they are the real Lena and will kill to stay that way. Each encounter strips away another layer of her certainty about which memories are hers and which were implanted by earlier copies. When the final confrontation reveals the original Lena has been dead for weeks, the last surviving copy must decide whether to destroy the technology or become the sole author of reality itself.

The story

Act I

Lena successfully tests the device on herself, waking in a colleague’s body while her original corpse is discovered; she quickly learns multiple copies are now active and erasing evidence of her death.

Act II

She tracks three divergent copies across the country, each more ruthless than the last, confronting the horrifying realization that some versions have already replaced world leaders and are rewriting events to favor their survival.

Act III

In a final siege inside the original lab, Lena destroys the master archive, but the last copy survives; she walks into the sunrise uncertain whether she is the original or merely the most convincing lie.

INT. UNDERGROUND LAB - NIGHT

Sterile blue light pulses across a neural helmet. DR. LENA VOSS, 38, wired to monitors, injects a syringe into her neck.

LENA
If this works, I’ll be the first person to meet herself.

She flips a switch. The screen flatlines. Her body slumps.

CUT TO:

INT. STRANGER’S APARTMENT - MORNING

Lena jolts awake in an unfamiliar bed, wearing someone else’s silk pajamas. She rushes to the mirror—same face, different clothes. Her phone buzzes: news alert: “PROMINENT NEUROSCIENTIST FOUND DEAD IN LAB.”

She stares at the headline, then at her trembling hands.

LENA (V.O.)
Which one of me just died?

Why now

In an era of fractured identities, algorithmic selves, and deepfake uncertainty, audiences crave a visceral thriller that weaponizes the exact paranoia we feel scrolling through our own digital reflections.
