Synopsis
In the misty Pacific Northwest, 17-year-old Scout Reyes discovers her "scouting" ability—vivid precognitive flashes—after saving her little brother from a car wreck that hasn't happened yet. When visions reveal a catastrophic earthquake leveling her logging town in 72 hours, Scout teams with her estranged mother, a disgraced seismologist, and a skeptical sheriff's deputy to convince the skeptical community before it's too late. As the visions intensify and begin targeting Scout herself, she uncovers that her gift stems from a childhood experiment gone wrong at the nearby abandoned observatory. Racing against collapsing mines and hallucinations, Scout must decide whether to save everyone or sacrifice herself to break the cycle. The film builds to a heart-stopping finale where Scout's final vision forces a choice between love and survival in a storm-lashed race against time.
The story
Scout's ordinary life as a quiet high-school loner shatters when a vision saves her brother, exposing her ability and drawing unwanted attention from locals and the shadowy observatory figures. Her mother returns after years away, dredging up buried trauma about Scout's missing father.
Visions escalate to show the town's doom and Scout's murder by an unknown stalker; she recruits unlikely allies, uncovers the observatory's experiments on kids like her, and faces betrayal as her power begins fracturing reality and relationships.
In the final 72 hours, Scout confronts the killer in a flooded observatory, sacrifices her ability to rewrite the timeline, saves the town, and finds uneasy peace with her mother as the last vision fades to black.

EXT. RAIN-SLICKED HIGHWAY - NIGHT Rain hammers the asphalt. 17-year-old SCOUT REYES (hoodie soaked, eyes wide) stands frozen in the middle of the empty road, staring at nothing. A vision slams into her: headlights, her little brother TOMMY laughing in the passenger seat, the family station wagon flipping into a ravine. Scout blinks. The road is empty. Then headlights appear. The station wagon crests the hill. SCOUT Tommy! Brake! Brake now! INT. STATION WAGON - CONTINUOUS Tommy turns, startled. ELENA slams the brakes. The car hydroplanes, spins, stops inches from Scout. ELENA What the hell are you doing in the road? Scout yanks open the door, pulls Tommy out. SCOUT We're not going that way. Something's wrong with the bridge. Lightning cracks. In the distance, the old bridge groans and collapses into the river. Tommy stares at Scout, terrified. TOMMY How did you know?
Why now
In an era of climate dread, algorithmic prediction, and generational trauma, Scout taps the raw nerve of young people who feel they can see the disasters coming yet are dismissed by adults; it offers catharsis and hope that one voice can still change the ending.
