Synopsis
Vance Miller is the ultimate stiff: a mid-level insurance actuary whose idea of fun is color-coded spreadsheets. On Father's Day morning his teenage sons gift him Just Dance 2025 as a joke, but when he accidentally goes viral crushing "WAP" in the living room, his repressed rhythm ignites a second act no one saw coming. The overnight fame pulls estranged wife Elena back into the orbit, forces his gamer sons to confront their own fears of vulnerability, and pits him against a ruthless rival instructor who wants the spotlight for herself. As the final dance-off looms at the citywide Father's Day Festival, Vance must choose between safe anonymity and dancing like his family's future depends on it—because it does.
The story
Vance's rigid life is upended when his sons gift him Just Dance and he accidentally films a viral hit; family tension peaks as Elena threatens to leave and the boys mock his every move.
Vance trains obsessively, drags his reluctant sons into a father-son routine, and clashes with rival instructor Tatiana while fame strains his marriage to the breaking point.
At the live Father's Day finale, Vance drops the corporate armor, leads an all-family flash mob, wins the crowd and Elena back, and finally learns that fatherhood means showing up with your whole ridiculous self.

INT. MILLER LIVING ROOM - DAY Morning light slices through beige curtains. VANCE MILLER, 44, in pressed khakis and a polo that screams "I file taxes for fun," stands frozen in front of the TV. A JUST DANCE mat lies on the carpet like a crime scene. His sons, TYLER (17) and MARCUS (13), film on their phones. TYLER Happy Father's Day, Dad. Try not to break a hip. Vance sighs, steps on. The song "WAP" blasts. He stares. Then his hips twitch. One shoulder rolls. Suddenly he's possessed—sharp, ridiculous, glorious. The boys' jaws drop. The phone keeps rolling. VANCE (whisper-singing) I said certified freak... He hits the final pose, sweating, eyes wide. The screen freezes on 5,000,000 views and climbing. MARCUS ...Dad?
Why now
In an era of absent or emotionally distant fathers, audiences are starving for unapologetically silly, redemptive dad stories that weaponize joy instead of lectures; paired with TikTok dance culture at peak saturation, this feels like the crowd-pleasing, meme-ready Father's Day event movie every studio needs right now.
