Synopsis
In the vertical sprawl of New Elysium, where anti-grav belts let citizens drift between skyscrapers like ghosts, Jax Harlan makes his living running contraband through the high lanes. When a routine drop reveals encrypted data about a secret project that could collapse the city's levitation grid, Jax is hunted by elite enforcers and corporate assassins. Teaming with hacker Lena Voss and haunted mentor Rivers, he must navigate lethal sky-chases and shifting alliances to expose the truth before the towers fall. As the conspiracy unravels, Jax discovers the project is tied to his own forgotten past, turning personal survival into a city-wide uprising. Betrayals mount in the mist-shrouded upper decks while street-level riots ignite below. In a final drift through the collapsing core, Jax must sacrifice everything to reset the grid and give the masses true freedom.
The story
Jax drifts through neon towers on a smuggling run when he intercepts data about Project Anchor, a plan to weaponize gravity. Hunted by corporate drones, he escapes into the undercity and meets Lena.
Allies fracture as Viktor Kane's forces close in; Jax learns he's an experimental prototype. Sky battles and betrayals force him to rally the drifters for open rebellion.
Jax confronts Kane atop the central spire, sacrifices his hover rig to overload the grid, and crashes the system, freeing the city as dawn breaks over grounded towers.

A CORPORATE DRONE swoops from above, red scanners flashing. Jax banks hard, dives between two towers, gravity gel hissing. The drone clips a pedestrian platform, sparks raining. JAX (CONT'D) (into comm) Scratch that. I got company. He punches a boost, shoots upward into the mist, the city lights blurring beneath him like dying stars.
