Synopsis
In the rain-slick sprawl of New Cascadia, Todd "Tinfoil" Reyes scrapes forgotten servers by night and dodges black-helicopter whispers by day. When a routine deep-dive coughs up encrypted footage of citizens moving like marionettes, Todd follows the signal into the Underscraper—an illegal vertical city carved beneath the streets where the elite pull strings via neural rigs. Dragged into lethal Puppet Fights broadcast for the powerful, he teams with a rogue handler and a defecting puppeteer to hijack the system from below. As surface riots erupt and his own memories glitch, Todd must decide whether to burn the whole grid or become the ultimate puppet master.
The story
Todd scrapes a forbidden archive and learns the surface is a scripted feed; he descends into the Underscraper chasing proof.
Captured and forced into brutal Puppet Fights, Todd allies with defectors while his mind fractures under neural edits and the regime hunts him topside.
Todd triggers a mass uplink that frees the puppets, topples the elite, and broadcasts the truth—yet leaves him questioning what is real.

TODD (into headset) They said the grid was clean. Watch this. He punches keys. A grainy clip loads: citizens on a street corner, heads jerking in perfect sync like puppets on strings. TODD (CONT'D) That's not a glitch. That's orders. A red laser dot blooms on his chest. He freezes. From the shadows, two HELMETED ENFORCERS step forward, rifles raised. ENFORCER Scraping ends tonight, Tinfoil. Todd yanks a cable; the vault lights explode into darkness. Footsteps. A chase begins downward.
