Synopsis
Haru, a mid-level salaryman drowning in Tokyo's gray grind, steps through a glowing koi pond and emerges in Fish World, a bustling underwater city of coral skyscrapers and schools of gossiping guppies. There he befriends a sardonic betta named Kiko who shows him how fins can dance through currents the way humans never could. As corporate nets close in from above and a ruthless anglerfish mayor plots to dam the human world forever, Haru must decide whether to return to his spreadsheet prison or grow gills of his own.
The story
Haru, exhausted by endless overtime, follows a stray koi into a hidden Tokyo pond and plummets into the dazzling Fish World metropolis.
Adopted by Kiko and the reef rebels, Haru learns their language of bubbles and currents while the anglerfish mayor floods the surface to trap him below forever.
Haru rallies the fish citizens in a bioluminescent uprising, chooses his new form, and swims home carrying only one glowing scale that changes everything.

INT. TOKYO SUBWAY CAR - NIGHT Haru stares at his reflection in the window. His tie is crooked. The car empties. A single glowing koi swims across the glass. HARU Not again. He follows it onto an empty platform, down a service stairwell, and into a hidden garden pond. The water lights up like liquid stars. As Haru leans closer, the surface pulls him under in silence. Bubbles rise like elevator chimes. Coral skyscrapers bloom beneath him. A school of fish parts, revealing a neon sign: WELCOME TO THE CURRENT.
