Synopsis
Elena Sato discovers a sealed 1945 file naming her grandfather as the architect of Unit 731 experiments that summoned an Oni to punish silence. The spirit manifests through her own suppressed memories, forcing victims to reenact horrors inside her modern Seattle home. As Elena's family fractures under escalating possessions, she unearths a surviving Oni vessel: her comatose mother. Confronting corporate and governmental cover-ups, she must choose between eternal denial that dooms her bloodline or public confession that invites the Oni's final judgment. The reckoning peaks at a public hearing where Elena broadcasts the truth, breaking the curse but leaving the Oni to claim one last soul who still refuses to face history.
The story
Elena Sato, rising archivist, receives a mysterious package containing her late grandfather's 1945 confession; strange markings appear on her skin and her young son begins sleepwalking into walls.
The Oni possesses family members, replaying Unit 731 atrocities inside their home; Elena uncovers a living corporate conspiracy while her mother channels the demon and warns that denial feeds it.
At a televised Senate hearing Elena publicly names every accomplice, shattering the curse; the Oni claims her still-denying uncle as final vessel, freeing her bloodline at the cost of one unrepentant life.

Cold open
INT. SATO FAMILY ARCHIVE - NIGHT Rain hammers the skylight of a dim, climate-controlled room lined with locked cabinets. ELENA SATO (30) in gloves and headlamp slides open a rusted drawer. Inside sits a single wax-sealed envelope stamped 1945. She breaks the seal. Black ink bleeds across the page into claw-like shapes. Suddenly the fluorescent lights strobe. Elena's breath fogs. A child's giggle echoes from the vents. ELENA Lucas? Honey, not funny. Her six-year-old son LUCAS stands in the doorway, eyes rolled back, whispering in Japanese. The cabinet doors slam open one by one. Files explode into the air, pages forming a swirling vortex around Elena. One page sticks to her cheek, burning the kanji for "confess" into her skin. LUCAS (whispering) He remembers what you forgot, Mommy. Elena screams as the Oni shadow rises behind her son.
