Synopsis
Banished from the fey realms, elf hunter Elandor tracks a horde of jiangshi awakened by a cursed subway excavation in modern Hong Kong. Armed with silver-laced arrows and ancient wards, he descends into the labyrinth of tunnels where the undead multiply with every stop, turning commuters into hopping terrors. As the infection spreads upward into the glittering city, Elandor allies with a skeptical MTR inspector who holds the key to the original curse. Their race against dawn forces brutal confrontations in packed cars and flooded platforms while the elf confronts his own exile and thirst for purpose. The final confrontation erupts at the central terminus where the ancient undead lord awakens, forcing Elandor to choose between eternal banishment or sacrificing his immortality to seal the breach forever.
The story
Elandor arrives in Hong Kong tracking a faint magical pulse; commuters begin vanishing on the subway and he kills his first jiangshi in a packed carriage.
Allied with inspector Lena, Elandor battles escalating hordes across multiple lines while the curse spreads to street level and his past sins surface in visions.
At the flooded central hub they confront the jiangshi king; Elandor shatters his own amulet to banish the dead, choosing mortality and a new life with Lena.
