A haunted ex-firefighter whose entire crew died in a megafire must lead a misfit team back into the inferno to save the last town standing and his own shattered soul.
Synopsis
After the Ashfall wildfire claims his brothers and his badge, Captain Marcus Hale vanishes into the wilderness. Two years later a new blaze threatens the only home left for the displaced, forcing him out of hiding to train an unlikely crew of rookies and ex-cons. As flames close in and corporate greed tries to torch evidence of negligence, Hale must decide whether saving others means finally forgiving himself.
The story
Hale is pulled from exile when the new fire erupts; we see the trauma of the original blaze in brutal flashbacks and meet his ragtag recruits.
The team battles both the inferno and sabotage from a timber company desperate to cover its tracks, fracturing loyalties and testing every survivor.
In the final stand Hale leads a suicidal push through the firebreak, sacrifices himself to buy time, and emerges reborn as the town and his conscience are saved.

Cold open
EXT. MOUNTAIN RIDGE - DAWN Wind howls. Smoke drifts like ghosts. MARCUS HALE (40s, gaunt, beard) kneels at a makeshift memorial of charred helmets. He touches one, eyes hollow. MARCUS (whisper) I should’ve stayed with you. A distant SIREN wails. He stands, jaw set. In the valley below, a new column of fire rises like a fist. His radio—long dead—crackles to life in his pack. VOICE (RADIO) Hale… if you’re out there… we need you. He stares at the flames. Tears cut through soot. Then he runs toward them.
