Synopsis
In a sleepy suburb, six high school seniors ignite their summer with Dare Me, a brutal truth-or-dare app that starts with pranks and quickly demands crimes, confessions, and betrayals. What feels like harmless fun fractures their bonds as the dares grow sadistic and personal, exposing affairs, addictions, and a shared deadly secret from their freshman year. As the game turns lethal and the final dare targets one of their own, the survivors must decide who to save and what price friendship demands.
The story

INT. BASEMENT PARTY - NIGHT Strobe lights pulse over red solo cups and grinding bodies. JADE (18, magnetic, leather jacket) holds up her phone, screen glowing with the Dare Me app. JADE I dare you. The group—five friends—leans in, laughing, drunk on summer freedom. MARCUS rolls his eyes but grins. The first dare pops: "Steal your ex’s underwear." Everyone howls. Lila films it all. Tyler volunteers instantly, already sprinting upstairs. Music thumps. The phone vibrates again, new dare loading faster than expected. Suddenly the lights flicker. The app voice—distorted, female—whispers through the speakers: APP VOICE Level two unlocked. No backing out. Jade’s smile falters as her screen shows a live feed of Tyler’s bedroom. Something is already watching.
Why now
TikTok dare culture and viral challenges have normalized public risk for clout; audiences crave a cautionary thriller that weaponizes that exact dopamine loop, reflecting Gen Z’s obsession with performance, exposure, and the blurred line between game and survival.
